General

Located 3 Km North of Cernobbio between the famous villa d'Este and George Clooney's villa, Charming waterfront property with richly decorated interiors and amazing gardens. Dating from 1700, this magnificent Villa was home of the famous compositor Vincenzo Bellini who lived here for 4 years. Inspired by the beauty of the place, he wrote some of his most beautiful operas, such as Norma and Sonnambula, here. Other famous people who stayed in this property are Winston Churchill and Napoleaon Bonarte, just to name a few.

The villa and its exquisite gardens are perfect for hosting Lake Como weddings, corporate events or simply for a relaxing family vacation. They are considered some of the most historic and beautiful gardens on Lake Como.  The magnificent swimming terrace is stunning with a large swimming pool surrounded by lemon and olive trees.  There are 11 working fountains on the property that add cool freshness and sound to the hot summer afternoons.  The property ends at the lake’s shore.  The dock area is beautiful.  It is encased in antique Moltrasio stone both on the walls and on the steps leading to the water.  The dock area is filled with roses, creeping jasmine and oleander.

THE VILLA

This luxury Italian villa has eight suites that average over 1,300 square feet.  They are all unique and beautiful.  They all have high and carved ceilings, antique floors and spectacular bathrooms.  The rooms are filled with antique furniture, Persian rugs, Venetian chandeliers and beautiful art.

The dining room is an oval shaped room with marble floors and a beautiful fresco by Andrea Appiani, a famous neoclassical artist. The living area has a marble fireplace and lovely views.

There is also a fully equipped kitchen with wine coolers and all the modern amenities. The furnishings are hand-carved from wood and very nicely decorated. The most prominent feature of the kitchen is given by the two stone fireplaces that are original to the villa.

On the ground floor, there is a billiard room with a hand-carved English Snooker table. Guests can also spend spend their evenings inside watching a movie in the cinema room which houses one of the villa’s most incredible fireplaces and an exquisite mahogany bar or staying active in the beautiful workout room with views over the lake and the mountains.

There is a beautifully restored antique piano that once sat in the Leipzig Concert Hall.  It rests in the Music Room which is a spectacular room with 30 ft. high ceilings, Albertolli frescoes and stunning views of the lake.

This luxurious property is perfect for groups of friends, large families with children, as there is a beautiful children play area with wooden slide, swing set and rope climb.  There is also a large children’s play room on the first floor next to the music room and a small children’s play room next to the kitchen. So the little ones will have plenty of entertainment at the property.

The Villa also enjoys its own marina with a private dock for guests who would like a boat during their stay.  Just outside the gates of the Villa is the quaint village of Moltrasio with its numerous restaurants, churches and meat/cheese/bread shops.

THE DEPENDANCE

The guesthouse of the Villa has six lovely bedrooms and sleeps ten comfortably.  It sits right over Lake Como and enjoys some of the finest views on the property.  As a luxury Italian villa, it has both beautiful antique as well as chic modern furnishings.  The kitchen is beautiful with high end stainless steel appliances. The Sitting Room is spectacular with a flat screen TV and gorgeous views North and South of Lake Como.  Elevated from the Sitting Room is the lovely Dining Room which also enjoys beautiful views of the Lake. Four of the bedrooms have beautiful ensuite bathrooms.  The Kitchen is large, modern and airy with every imaginable amenity.  The kitchen units are an elegant stainless steel and in the center is an antique Tuscan eating table.    This beautiful guesthouse sits just over the water and it's lovely to sit on the veranda with a cool glass of prosecco and listen to the sounds of boats and the marina.

Positioned at the corner of the villa with magnificent views of the lake to the north and the south, the Suite is painted decoratively reflecting the  eighteenth century origins. In the bedroom there is a large grey marble fireplace that is original to the villa.

Bedroom 2 (2 guests)

King Bed, beautiful and separate sitting room, bathroom with antique Rotterdam WC and steel English bathtub with shower. It faces the lake, with beautiful views of the lake and the swimming pool. It has beautifully restored wooden floors, Zoffany wallpaper and important paintings and antiques.

Bedroom 3 (2 guests)

King Bed, bathroom with steel and porcelain antique English bathtub and skeleton shower encased in crystal glass. beautiful views of the mountains and of Moltrasio. The bedroom has antique wooden floors and is decorated in Colefax and Fowler wallpaper.

King Bed,bathroom with a beautiful steel-covered antique English bathtub, it faces the mountains and the village;  the second bedroom, for one person, contains a decorative, original antique fireplace and decorated ceiling.

This Suite has two sitting rooms, three bedrooms, a sauna, and one bathroom with a shower and separate tub with shower. The suite features beautifully carved ceilings of musical instruments.  The lovely views are of the lake and swimming pool.  The sauna and bathroom contain a beautiful fireplace, antique English bathtub and a steam shower.

Bedroom 6 (2 guests)

King Bed, bathroom features Lombardy floors, Siena marble tops, a shower and a large Jacuzzi bathtub. The Suite is situated in the corner of the second floor and enjoys enviable views of the lake to the north and the south and totals 576 square feet. The bedroom is filled with antiques and beautiful art.
