The Etruscan Coast, a land washed by the sea for over ninety kilometres, is basically a long narrow stretch of coastline along Tuscany covering from Livorno to Piombino, a small town set on a promontory in front of the Elba Island, whose name has roots in its own Etruscan civilisation since the 9th century Before Christ. Towns, hamlets and villages such as Castiglioncello, Bolgheri, the world wine Mecca of Castagneto Carducci where the Sassicaia is produced, Populonia, Suvereto and Campiglia Marittima are true gems that leave visitors breathless and always with one question in mind: why is not this area the most famous of Tuscany, yet? This land represents the perfect mix of colours, scents of the Mediterranean and absolutely fantastic food, with its crystal-clear water and serene atmosphere, yet it’s mostly visited by locals and European enthusiasts of unspoilt Tuscany.
Along the Etruscan Coast long rocky sections alternate with sandy beaches, taverns and restaurants offer excellent seafood cuisine paired with outstanding wines and greenery is everywhere, from the pine forests that surround the beaches, to the small forests and parks located a short distance from the coast and overlooking the sea. Gulf of Baratti, Buca delle Fate and the marinas of Bibbona and Castagneto Carducci represents the best beach destinations of the entire area. Just a few miles from towns and villages all around, this property is settled in an ideal location to enjoy the beauty of coastal and inland Tuscany Maremma. The nearby Bolgheri is the birthplace of many of the excellent wines from Tuscany, the Super Tuscans (Cantine Incisa, Antinori, Frattini to name some). Volterra, famous for its alabaster, such as Florence, which needs no introduction, can be reached with a wonderful drive. Nearby are four golf courses (18 and 9 holes): Punta Ala, Gavorrano and two in Tirrenia near Pisa. Excursions, wine tasting, cycle tourism, visits to the cities of art are just some of the ideas that guests can alternate to the pleasant moments of relaxation is able to create.
