In a great location, close to Quercianella village centre where you can find amenities such as post office, chemists, grocery store, fishmongers, butchers, restaurants and bar (so car-hire not essential here), this part of Tuscan Coast is is quite. The little village of Quercianella, sits among the greenery of pine trees and Mediterranean scrub, facing out onto the sea that laps against the cliffs. Not lacking in the typical beach resorts, this area of coastline is particularly appreciated by lovers of water sports. The sea, which breaks against rocks, pebbly beaches and hidden coves, is rich in fish, and as such is a favorite among divers and snorkelers. Surfing is also practised here all year round and the little docks are a safe bet for finding a boat. The Quercianella coastline was awarded a Blue Flag in 2007, in recognition of the quality of its services and waters. The main beaches of the area are Chioma, made of stones and pebbles, to the north of the estuary of the river of the same name; and Quercianella, right next to the marina, with a free stretch of beach and another that’s equipped for day under the sun. Beyond this, north of the marina, you find another little beach with a saltwater swimming pool, fashioned artificially with a wall of stones, perfect for children to bathe in without risk. Then there is also the gravelly beach of Rogiolo, which is equipped with access for visitors with limited mobility, to the south of Sonnino promontory. You can reach it by an easy concrete path, which runs along the cliffs from the restaurant 'La Baracchina'.
