An ancient restored palace dated back to 16th century, served as a country retreat for a noble Venetian family. The Villa mantains its original frescoes but today all the Suites apartments enjoy every modern amenity. Set on the Giudecca island across from St. Mark's square, it is an ideal location for whom is looking for a quite and private stay. The area is less known to tourists yet well frequented by artists and the bon vivant crowd, it provides a lovely escape from the bustle of the Venetian crowds but is still conveniently close to the city's centre for shopping, restaurants, and museums. The property was incredibly popular in the early part of the 20th century when it was an upscale Pensione, catered to an eclectic clientele of painters, writers, and actors including Gabriele D’Annunzio, Eleonora Duse, and Mabel Holland.
Today the Villa offers 11 different accommodation options, ranging from 60 sq.m suites, to two bedroom residences as well as a vast 300 sq.m apartment. The villa can also be booked exclusively, perfect for a large family celebration. The decor is sumptuous with gorgeous antiques, silk fabrics and personal touches. Each residence features living room spaces and quaint mini kitchens that provide guests with a home away from home and allow them to experience Venice as a true Venetian. The accommodations are also ideal for families seeking more space and an escape from the run-ofthe-mill hotel offering.
Breakfast is served in one of the salons, while a private butler welcomes guests, advises and guides them throughout their stay, opening doors to ‘heavenly’ and bespoke experiences. These include: personalized chauffeured Wine Tours; Gourmet cruise in the Venice lagoon; Shopping ‘by appointment’; cucina Veneziana cooking classes; customized wine tastings; private dinner at a Glass Master’s furnace in Murano; kayaking; private art tours; lace making course in Burano and much more.

Venice is a city that can be enjoyed at all times of the year. The months from Easter to October are the main tourist season when hotels can be difficult to come by at short notice. The other two really popular spells are during the Carnival in February (the 10 days up to Shrove Tuesday) and the weeks on each side of Christmas.Summer (mid July to the end of August) isn't necessarily the best time to go to Venice October and late February, take your wellies just in case! This is the season of floods - known locally as acqua alta, and occasional downpours can be heavy. The low-lying Piazza San Marco is especially vulnerable. Clear blue skies and balmy weather make spring and autumn the best times to go.
